Maggie Marigold

Maggie shared her big smile and wagging tail with hundreds of children as a therapy dog for a grade school near us. I saw lots of photos of children with their hands reaching out to pet her. This photo of her on the beach was the one her family selected. The light was not good as it was taken in the bright beach light. Our dog , Bell, looked a lot like Maggie and I used photos of her in better light but with the same pose to help me out. I had never painted a beach background but it was fun to do. My favorite parts are her eyelashes, the blue tattoo on her tongue, the sand on her nose and the long wisps of hair on her legs in the sand. This is UART400 sanded paper.
