Max

I donated a portrait to a silent auction, part of an amazing annual event called Art Spring in Thomas, West Virginia. The money raised is used to promote the arts in this tiny mountain town. The high bid was from a couple that loved this dog! I was surprised at the quality of reference photos they had of Max who was gone by then. When I saw this photo I knew it was "the one". It just showed the energy and spirit of Max. I enjoyed painting him so much that it was hard to give up the painting. Happily we have become hiking buddies and now share walks with our young dogs. My painting style is loose and I see color that isn't always there. I'm so glad they liked Max's portrait.
