The Grove is Green with Spring

This lovely alder grove is bright with white trunks and tender spring green leaves early in the year. It's so inviting! Sunlight spills through the young forest, keeping the values light, but for the dark cast shadows low in the undergrowth and cast on the path from growing spring grasses and wildflowers. Sketched for value and a 'feeling' of the place, and photographed, on location, then completed in studio. Pastelmat paper, variety of different dry pastel brands used.
