"Garden Gate" was created on La Carte salmon-colored pastel card with a variety of hard and soft pastels. The beauty of the flowers in the sun struck me, as well as the quaint picket fence. I let the color of the paper work for me, warming the greens and shadows, and had fun attempting a quick, spontaneous painting.
