Fascination

This painting was about color exploration and concentration for me. Looking at my pastel boxes, my orange sticks looked the least touched. And, like many artists, I was finding it hard to keep my mind in my paintings during this time of heightened anxiety. The process was almost like sculpting for this one and I was totally engaged from beginning to end. The original photo image is from a flower market in Paris and I so longed to be there in person and I hope that shows in the end result.
