Looking Up

I created this painting of our cat named Trooper who was full of personality & had a great sense of humor. I began this soft pastel painting by covering a large sheet of contractor's sub-flooring base with clear gesso & mounting it to a board. I painting his eyes first & then began working from the top left corner working my way down the board to finish in the bottom right hand corner. I worked mostly in soft pastels using some Nupastels & Conte pastel pencils for tiny details. I complete each area of the painting before moving down to the next area. I applied Lascaux fixative when I was completely finished.
