Blue Symphony

Dry pastel on a pastel and alcohol wash underpainting
This is my first very large pastel painting. I used a watercolour sketch I had made on the seashore, and worked hard to render the luminescent blue and turquoise water, as well as the underwater rocks and the ominous clouds approaching. The big format was a revelation to me as I felt it was very liberating!
