"The Hidden Glen"

I have finally realized that I'm a representational/impressionistic artist. I've tried abstracts, block pastel painting and I always come back to realism. I feel a bit "less than" because the art community here celebrates abstracts but it is what it is and I'm content with my choices. I've only been working in soft pastels for about 9 months and I love it so much more than any other medium. I'm hooked. I've tried UArt 400 and I'm not fond of it. Right now I'm using gessoed, acid free mat board or gessoed BFK Rives printmaking paper. I can't afford much and hope to eventually invest in higher quality papers and pastels.
