Bikers are gathered to watch the dirt races in the early 1950s. This pastel is part of a series of drawings based on my family's Kodachrome movie collection which date back to the early 1950s. The image depicts my grandparents on a road trip through Michigan. My work is centered around the the figure, and my hope is to capture a moment that feels fleeting but timeless.
