Six Days New

This portrait shows the curiosity and vulnerability of a young calf. Already exhibiting the serenity unique to dairy cows, she is ready to socialize, interact and learn about the world around her. As with all portraits, I began with her eyes, gleaming and soulful. Moving on to her coat, I used highlights to trace the underlying bone structure. I balanced the simple composition with pools of dark color to let the viewer explore her youthful visage.
